Frequently asked questions

Is Note after Note free?

Yes, completely: lessons, pieces, exercises and scores are free, with no subscription and no intrusive ads.

Do I need a digital piano?

No. A keyboard or digital piano connected over USB or Bluetooth (MIDI) gives the best accuracy, but your computer or phone microphone is enough for an acoustic piano or a guitar. Without an instrument, you can listen to the pieces and do the theory, ear and rhythm exercises.

Do I need to read music?

No. The method starts with the basics (notes, rhythm, hand position) and note names can be shown under the score.

Are the scores copyright-free?

Yes: the works are in the public domain and the scores come from free editions (Mutopia, PDMX…) or were arranged for the site; each piece credits its source and licence.

Do I need an account?

No. Your progress is saved in your browser and you can export it at any time.
