A St Nicholas song from the Hunsrück (19th century), sung by German children on 6 December: “soon it will be St Nicholas’ eve”. An easy arrangement in C major: the right hand plays the tune, the left hand only plays the bass of each chord, one held note at a time.

How to practise it
