Domenico Scarlatti · Level 4 (Intermediate) · Baroque · Piano
A singing, peaceful Allegro ma non tanto sonata in 2/2 in C major, over repeated left-hand chords. One of the 555 one-movement sonatas Scarlatti wrote for the harpsichord, usually in two repeated halves, brilliant and full of Iberian colour. C major, 2/2, 82 bars (about 2 minutes), complete score.

How to practise it
- Listen first: the site plays it while the score scrolls.
- Wait mode: the score waits for you at every note, at your own pace.
- Tempo challenge: play in time, with a score and a map of the bars you got right.
- Keep the left hand’s repeated chords light under the melody. Light, precise touch, loose wrists in the repeated notes and hand crossings. Triplets and other tuplets must be perfectly even: count them aloud with the metronome. Fast writing: work section by section in Wait mode, then in dotted rhythms, and raise the tempo in steps of 5–10%.
