March in two keys
Note after Note · Level 5 (Advanced) · 20th century · Piano
A little bitonal march in the manner of Milhaud: the right hand is in G major, the left hand in E♭ major… then they swap keys in the middle.

How to practise it
- Listen first: the site plays it while the score scrolls.
- Wait mode: the score waits for you at every note, at your own pace.
- Tempo challenge: play in time, with a score and a map of the bars you got right.
- Read each hand in its own key: RH with F♯, LH with B♭, E♭, A♭ (all accidentals are written in). Practise each hand alone until it sounds “right” in its own key, then put them together: the clash is intentional. Play it crisp, dry and cheerful, like a slightly tipsy brass band.
